Welcome to my blogšŸ‘‹

Oh hello, my digital friend:)

I’m happy you have stumbled upon my little corner on the internet.

Before you brush this off as just another rant disguised as a blog post, let me assure you, it’s anything but that. However, since this is my first blog, you’ll get a know into why I’m starting this one-of-a-kind blog space and a glimpse into how a computer science graduate found her footing in digital marketing, the lessons learned, the mistakes made, and the ongoing navigation through this vast domain.

But why?
If you’re wondering why it’s important for you to know my story and the reason behind this blog; it’s because one of the fundamentals of content marketing is: establishing a genuine connection with your audience. Understanding the reasons behind this blog endeavor will help us foster that connection. But, right now, let’s not go deep into the theoretical things.

A small flashbackā€¦
Let’s travel back in time to the year 2019 when I, Diviya (yes, there’s an extra ‘i’ in my name), was a bachelor’s degree student. I was in the final year and found myself in a spot where I had to participate in a campus recruitment process. I walked into a random mass interview, and found myself pleasantly surprised by the questionnaireā€”it was all about English and writing, my forte. I breezed through it and walked out, not giving it much thought. But to my surprise, I cleared the next few rounds spanning across 2-days and eventually got a job as an Intern in Zoho, a leading SaaS-based company. Ahh, don’t be too quick to judge that I just got lucky– I didn’t land a full-time job during my internship period. After a four-month hiatus (let’s call it what it is, unemployment) and endless attempts, I landed a full-time role as a Content Writer. From here, there was no looking back.

Fast-forward, after working on multiple projects at Zoho for 3.5 years, I decided to quit my job and move to Canada to pursue a Post Graduate Diploma Certificate in Content Strategy. A program to upskill myself and learn more about the current marketing trends. Oh boy! Did I mess up my life? Perhaps. Going back to school after 4 years wasn’t the smooth sailing I anticipated. But do I regret it? Nah, not in the slightest. This program has been a tremendous learning experience and also enabled me to eventually start my own blog site. Thereā€¦ I said it. It all started as an assignment submission, but it is definitely more than that now.

All thanks to my Professor, DorisšŸ«¶šŸ¼ She provided the catalyst I needed to pursue what I loveā€”writing. Writing not just to share knowledge but to convince my potential future employer that I’m worthy enough to get a job offer. I’m not a know-it-all (I’m still figuring my way around Analytics tools) but I’m someone who’s committed to giving her all to deliver the best.

The last line sounded like a pitch. Anyways, here’s an invitation to join me on this rollercoaster ride. I promise to keep it interesting and informative as we learn and grow together. Also, since this is a journey of learning together, I’d love to learn your thoughts and own experiences in the comments.

Thank you for sticking around till the end:) Here’s to a fantastic week ahead, and I’ll catch you in my next blog.
